4 Tips For Engaging The Present Moment With Success And Balance

There is much publicity about the art of being present in your own life.  Here are 4 practical ways to accomplish that. 1. Yoga.  Yes daily yoga practice gives you experience being in the moment with your muscles movement and breath.  Outside of your designated yoga practice are the moments where yoga can really come in handy.  For example perhaps you are in a meeting feeling fidgety and distracted.  Curl your big toe and take a deep breath then relax the toe muscles.  Repeat.  Pretty soon you're back in the moment and you have made it through the meeting. 2. Meditate.  There are many forms of meditation.  Pick the ones that work for you.  You can incorporate them into your real life moments by way of your thought processes and actions. If you are struggling to be present tune in to the sound of your own breath.  Let the mind focus on the sound and rhythm of your own breathing and you will soon find yourself present in the moment. 3. Write.  Love expressed as gratitude can free your mind. Make a routine of writing down 5 things you are grateful for daily.  On a rough day when you find yourself struggling to come up with items 4 and 5 I bet at some point you have a drink of water or a nutritious snack that helps you to the next opportunity.  Take a moment to record your gratitude for that water or snack in your planner, tablet or smartphone. 4. Visualize.  Let your mind create a picture of a bath of light or a beautiful day on the beach. Choose the most positive images you are drawn to.  Then let the mind visualize those images all around you. Visualization is a routine of imagination that becomes natural and practical with practice over time. Keep me informed of your experiences.
