Evolve Success Habits

First and foremost I'm going to trump all of the conventional advice on success habits from my unique perspective as a terminally ill individual in America. 1) Your Message: If you died today what message did you leave? What message would you want to leave? I love you, Peace, Jai Guru Dev that is my message. 2) Your Hashtags: If the blue man crew walks up to you out of nowhere and asks you what's your hashtag thing what hashtags would you leave behind? #RightToDie #PlannedParenthood #ConscientiousObjector #Vegan #Peace are my hashtags. 3) Accountability: If you were to require resuscitation or any other artificial means to sustain your life would you want it or not? I keep this in writing on me at all times in my advance directive, in the email accounts of anyone who knows me, and of all of my medical team; “Please let me go. I do not want to suffer. I do not want to be kept alive by any artificial means or if said life would render me captive to the will of others. Please let me go. I love you, Peace, Jai Guru Dev” If nothing else it is simply more polite to make these literally life-changing decisions on your own in advance instead of passing them off to whatever other third parties would otherwise be cursed with making life and death decisions and the consequences of those decisions on your behalf. Be candid, clear and direct regarding the quality of life you are willing to lead. I never want to live in a nursing home or in any kind of supervised care. If I am ever in a physical or mental state that would require supervised care I personally prefer death. The people around you need to know this kind of information just as you need to know this kind of information about them. Honestly it makes me laugh out loud how incredibly frightened Americans are to speak of death and sex. Pop icon Madonna says it best “Lighten up America.” to be clear I know full well and first-hand what it's like to be in the company of of another person who has expressly and legally announced that they don't want any resuscitation or life-saving procedures carried out on them ever. I have held such a person in my arms as they died. And even though I want what I gave her the act of letting what is be was incredibly painful even when considering that in large part we are sociologically conditioned with authority and fear to follow otherwise social norms. Again I refer to pop icon Madonna “lighten up America.” 4) Do your best with what you got: Yes I realize that is not proper English. Drink water on regular basis everyday. Eat as nutritionally as you are able. Get some moderate exercise and stretching in three to five times a week even if that means taking the stairs or marching in place it's your health that will thank you in the end. Get restful sleep as often as you can in a perfect world that would be 8 hours a night every day of your life. Manage your stress by doing things you like such as meditation exercise singing etc. 5) The conventionally listed success habits: Appearance of modesty; give the work a chance to speak for itself. Focus; based on your values and goals keep your eyes on the road so to speak. Rehearsal; do it like you mean it, every practice like it's the real thing. Mindfulness; deep breathing, meditation, discretion pick and choose when, where and how you spend your focus, energy, time, money and effort.
